No Happy Endings is the series premiere of The ACS. It originally aired as a full-length movie on April 18, 2013, on KM TV. Subsequent reruns divided the episode into two parts. The episode is known as The Beginning on Nicktoons 1000. In this episode, Nicktropolis is attacked by multiple aliens and it's up John the Marksman, Bagel, Nozus, Web, Collector, and JJam to stop them.

Plot

Part one

In the year of 2023, technology has advanced implausibly. As a result, astronauts of Apollo 123 explore the terrain of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn. The regiment of astronauts disbands for an inquisition and one of the astronauts stumble across a hefty spacecraft. After trying to enter the spacecraft, it opens, and a momentous, demonic figure emerges out. The screen fades to black, followed by horrific screams from the astronauts, and a spaceship taking off.

A month later, in Fort Pooda, the years have been rough for John the Marksman, so he decides to move back to Nicktropolis, their base of operations, after 8 years of living in Fort Pooda. However, as John is packing, he hears a strident sound getting louder by the minute. As he looks outside, he sees a scorching object heading straight towards the city. With no other alternative, John grabs his RPG he hides inside his hat, aims precisely, and fires. The object is obliterated in midair, which is revealed to be a spacecraft. However, one of the diminishing shards was heading straight for John. Before he could move or think, Web appears arbitrarily and swiftly slices the shard with his Rainbow Blade. The spacecraft is revealed to be Apollo 123, which crash-landed with no astronauts. Web and John then engage in a conversation which ultimately turned into an argument, so Web left. As John continued packing, he had realized Web cut his tires from his car...

Meanwhile, in Nicktropolis, Nozus has become greatly infuriated that the whole city has come to idolize and respect Bagel and SSK. Believing he is better, Nozus begins to construct a scheme in his subversive base that will mark the beginning of Bagel and SSK's demise. The episode then goes into a top-down view, zooming in on Bagel and SSK, who is at a conference with the city council of Nicktropolis. The meeting, however, is interrupted by a nearby building explosion. Bagel instantaneously goes to the scene and tries to help injured civilians, along with Collector with the same intentions. After another building is destroyed, the source of the destruction is revealed to be an immense spacecraft. The spacecraft then begins to fire chaotically, obliterating various structures and buildings of the city. The spacecraft then discharges three gigantic, treacherous organic aliens that begin to further attack the city. While Bagel and Collector battle the aliens, Nozus observes these alien threats and begins to run tests and analyze the species from below. He distinguishes their weaknesses and heads outside for the battle.

Part two

JJam has been spending the weekend at Quibblobicus. As he watches the news, he wishes he could support his friends but he has no way of getting to Nicktropolis in time, which is in New York. Fortunately, fate kicked in. Beforehand, John the Marksman had been conscious of the dilemma in Nicktropolis from the radio and called Web to get JJam. Consequently, Web waited outside for JJam in a modified shopping cart.

The aliens

Back in Nicktropolis, the battle over the city continues to rage on. Collector soon realizes his bullets are ineffective and he is low in ammo, and because of the aliens' magnitude, Bagel is unable to attack the monstrosities without suffering from an injury, making them utterly useless. The citizens get even more hysterical when they see another anonymous airborne spacecraft heading towards the city. However, upon a closer look, Bagel and Collector recognize the driver of the spacecraft as John the Marksman, who crashes the spacecraft into one of the aliens, killing it. As John parachutes down, Nozus exits his lair underground with a complex futuristic-looking rifle. He fires the rifle directly at one of the aliens, killing and exploding it. Nozus attempts to reload his rifle but the last alien notices him. As the alien is preparing to strike, Web and JJam arrive right on time and Web activates the turbo on his shopping cart and sends himself and JJam into the air, and they both cling onto the monster with their weapons. JJam continuously attacks the monsters eye with his axe, his signature weapon, while Web uses his Rainbow Blade to cut the monsters hand off, thus killing the last alien.

The six heroes then draw their attention towards the main spacecraft that released the aliens. Followed by a succinct speech, the driver of the spacecraft activates his force field and flees at prompt speed. The heroes then acknowledge their surroundings of City Square in Nicktroplis. City Square was enclosed with sea green alien blood, an abundant of buildings had been destroyed, and several civilians were wounded, some critically. Amidst all the destruction, Collector's home and John's soon-to-be apartment were destroyed. Feeling sympathetic, Nozus invited everyone into his underground lair. There, he offered John and Collector a place to stay, swiftly threw out his plans to demolish SSK and Bagel, and gave the remainder of the heroes a tour of his quarters. At the end, when Web, JJam, and Bagel were parting ways, John confronted Nozus.

They conversed about the potential threats their universe still faced, and John figured they'd fight stronger as a group then by themselves. Followed by the concise conversation, Nozus and Collector were given an I.D. Before Web, JJam, and Bagel left, they were stopped by John and given an I.D., and were asked to joined the newly formed Aberration Camaraderie Society.

Production inconsistencies

• JJam is spending the weekend at Quibblobicus, however, the city seen is clearly CircleCity. This is because JJam was originally suppose to be spending the weekend at CircleCity.

Production notes

• Billy West, voice of SSK, showed up at the recording studio dressed up as SSK.

• This is the first and only episode to show John without his hat on.
